Job summary

Mom’s Meals in Ankeny, IA is seeking a reliable Forklift Operator to join our warehouse team. You will perform receiving, put-away, shipping, and stocking to pick locations using forklifts and carts, while maintaining inventory accuracy and monitoring cooler temperatures.

This full-time role requires standing and sitting forklift experience, RF scan use, and ability to work shifts including evenings and weekends.

Qualifications

• Stand-up forklift or high-low forklift experience required.
• Must be at least 18 years of age.
• Fluent in reading/writing/speaking English.
• Basic math skills required.

Responsibilities

• Available to work a variety of shifts including days, evening, nights and weekends due to varying freight volumes
• Efficiently sort, handle, load and unload palletized and non-palletized freight using appropriate motorized and manual equipment, including pallet jack, forklift and by hand as needed
• Must be able to operate stand up forklifts primarily as these will be used the majority of the time
• Utilize mobile handheld devices for tracking shipments
• Safely climb in and out of trailers
• Lift freight and other objects of various shapes, sizes and weights (up to 50 lbs. frequently)
• Secure freight inside trailers using appropriate tools and supplies (e.g. pallets, straps, rope)
• Safety walk and stand for extended periods of time on a loading dock that has potential to be below freezing and may become slippery
• Safely reach, bend, climb, push, pull, twist, squat and kneel as necessary to perform the job duties
• Verify and complete required documentation and reports
• Adhere to company safety policies
• Frequent contact with co-workers and supervisors; fast-paced and deadline oriented
• Safely work in cold weather conditions
