Job summary

Chartwells Higher Education Dining Services is seeking a full-time Cold Food (Salad) Associate in DeLand, Florida. The candidate will be responsible for preparing food according to standards, maintaining cleanliness, and ensuring compliance with safety regulations.

Job Summary

Position: Cold Food (Salad) Associate – Full Time.

Location: 421 North Woodland Boulevard, DeLand, FL 32723.

Schedule: Monday–Friday, 9:00 am–3:30 pm; weekend required. Full time.

Pay: $16.00 – $17.00 per hour.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

• Obtain daily production schedule and preparation requirements from the Chef.
• Prepare sandwich meats, cheeses, condiments and salads according to approved production standards to ensure proper quality, serving temperatures, and standard portion control.
• Stock and replenish deli/cold products and condiments following approved merchandising guidelines.
• Transport pans, kettles and trays of food to and from workstation, stove and refrigerator.
• Store food in designated areas following HACCP standard wrapping, dating and rotation procedures.
• Clean, sanitize and maintain counters, work surfaces, refrigeration units and floors in the preparation and serving areas.
• Place meat, cheese or vegetables on cutting board and cut slices to designated thickness; use slicing machine as required.
• Interact with coworkers to ensure compliance with company service standards, inventory and cash control procedures.
• Maintain a clean, safe work environment to comply with sanitation, ServSafe and safety requirements.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Because this position requires you to perform services in an educational facility, there may be periods when the Company does not require you to perform work (such as winter and summer breaks when food service needs decline or cease). Any such periods during which you do not perform work on the Company’s behalf may be unpaid and deemed a temporary layoff.
