Job summary

Peddler's Son in Phoenix, AZ is seeking a full-time Warehouse Order Picker to contribute in a fast-paced, temperature-controlled environment. You will pull, stage, load, and verify orders to meet company standards for productivity and accuracy.

The role requires the ability to lift up to 75 lbs, endure cold conditions, and maintain safety through HACCP/SQF/OSHA guidelines, with strong attention to detail and teamwork.

Qualifications

• Basic math skills and reading comprehension
• Stand for long periods of time
• Able to frequently lift 50 -75 pounds
• Must pass a pre-placement drug test
• Must be self-motivated, organized and have excellent communication skills
• Must be able to lift 75lbs unassisted and deliver, load and unload 15-20 delivers a day
• Must be able to walk considerable distances in the facility during the course of his or her work?
• Must be able to lift and raise or lower objects from one level to another regularly during the shift?
• Must be able to Pull or Push exerting force up to a certain number of pounds on a regular basis so that the object is moved to or away from the employee?
• Must be able to carry on a regular basis, to carry objects in his or her arms or on the shoulder(s)?
• Must be able to grasp regularly picking up objects with fingers?
• Must be able to reach regularly; required to use the hands and arms to reach for objects?
• Stooping and Crouching required to bend forward by bending at the waist or by bending legs and spine
• Must be able to use color determination--the job requires color determination vision (no color blindness)?
• Speaking (typical for a salesperson) -- Does the job require expressing ideas by the spoken word?
• Must be able to listen; job requires the perception of speech or the nature of sounds in the air?
• Must be able to taste or smell; the job requires the ability to distinguish differences in quality of flavors and/or odors, using tongue and/or nose?

Responsibilities

• Locate and accurately pull orders in a timely fashion (minimum 130 p/h, 150 p/h average).
• Stage orders together on the dock.
• Load checked orders onto trucks (as needed).
• Pull shorted items when assigned to shorts (as needed).
• Ensure the accuracy of pulled product (double check quality and quantity).
• Follow truck loading and unloading procedures.
• Follow inventory procedures (First in first out).
• Clean and maintain the warehouse inside and out (This includes all coolers; pick up trash; sweeping floor and back dock area and empty trash as needed).
• Communicate with supervisors and warehouse department employees any issues related to performing duties.
• Find and communicate ways to improve and or increase productivity
• Maintain a safe work environment. Follow all HACCP, SQF and OSHA rules and regulations.
