Job summary

Rich’s, a global food company, is seeking a Material Handler in Morristown, TN to support shipping, receiving and transport of packaging, ingredients and finished goods in a cold manufacturing environment.

You will follow GMPs, perform forklift duties, maintain equipment, assist with inventory counts and ensure safe, organized operations in a fast-paced facility.

The role requires a high school diploma or GED, English literacy, basic math and computer skills, and the ability to lift 50 pounds.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Must read, write and speak English.
• Must possess basic math and computer skills.
• Able to work with minimal supervision.
• One year or more material handling experience.
• Must be able to lift 50 pounds.
• Be able to regularly stand, reach, bend, and move about the facility.
• Vision abilities include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision and depth perception.
• Hearing ability to meet manufacturing facility safety requirements.

Responsibilities

• Shipping, receiving and transporting packaging, ingredients, and finished goods for the facility.
• Observe safety rules and wear PPE; follow GMPs and keep area clean.
• Maintain forklifts by daily inspecting batteries, lights, tire conditions, etc.
• Verify deliveries by inspecting materials against delivery receipts.
• Enter documentation of delivery receipts or material handling into the computer system.
• Organize/rotate old materials with new.
• Housekeeping: remove/damage items and keep areas clean.
• Assist management with inventory balances through cycle counts.
• Label open/partial ingredients and packaging.
• Check production schedules to stage packaging and ingredients.
• Perform other warehouse and freezer duties; operate forklift equipment.
• Recertify forklift license annually.
• Work in an extremely cold environment.
