Job summary

Juniors Supermarkets in San Juan is seeking a Deli Associate to provide friendly, efficient service while preparing a variety of deli items. You will slice, weigh, wrap, and label products, and maintain a clean deli area in accordance with safety standards.

Responsibilities include assisting customers with selections, preparing made-to-order items, and monitoring stock and sanitation. Bilingual Spanish/English is preferred; ability to stand long hours and lift up to 50 lbs is required.

Qualifications

Job Purpose:- To provide exceptional customer service while preparing and serving a variety of high-quality deli products, maintaining a clean and organized deli area, and adhering to food safety standards.Key Responsibilities:- Provide friendly and efficient customer service, assisting customers with product selection, answering questions, and addressing concerns.- Slice, weigh, and package a variety of deli meats and cheeses to customer specifications.- Prepare made-to-order sandwiches, salads, and other deli items according to established recipes and procedures.- Maintain a clean and organized deli counter, including stocking and rotating products, cleaning equipment, and ensuring proper food storage.- Follow all food safety and sanitation guidelines, including proper handwashing, temperature control, and product handling.- Monitor product quality and freshness, rotating stock and removing outdated items.- Operate and maintain deli equipment, such as slicers, scales, and wrapping machines.- Assist with inventory management, including receiving deliveries and stocking shelves.- May be responsible for opening or closing the deli department, including cash handling and reconciliation.- Perform other duties as assigned by the Deli Manager or other supervisory staff.Additional Duties: Management reserves the right to assign additional tasks as necessary to support store operations.
