Job summary

Zekelman Industries, Atlas Tube division, in Kansas City, MO, seeks a Coil Yard Attendant to pick, pack, stage, and load steel tube and pipe while following safety and quality standards. This role emphasizes accurate order fulfillment and efficient material flow in a fast-paced warehouse.

You will operate forklifts and related equipment, stock and inspect materials, and support on-time delivery for customers and internal teams. Strong attention to detail is essential.

Qualifications

• Technical School training preferred.
• 2+ years of warehouse experience preferred, ideally in steel or tubing.
• Basic math skills for accurate order processing.
• Ability to safely operate warehouse equipment.
• Strong communication and problem-solving abilities.

Responsibilities

• Champion and enforce safe work practices in accordance with company policies and regulatory requirements.
• Prepare materials, products, and equipment for distribution and shipment.
• Process and fulfill orders for customers and internal teams to support on-time delivery.
• Pick, pack, and stage orders while verifying accuracy using scanning tools.
• Load shipments onto flatbed trucks or LTL carriers.
• Receive, inspect, and process incoming materials while reporting any damages.
• Replenish warehouse stock and rotate inventory using a reach truck or forklift.
• Operate forklifts, order pickers, reach trucks, and walkie rider pallet jacks to move materials efficiently.
• Standardize and optimize shipping and receiving procedures to improve accuracy and efficiency.
• Perform additional duties as assigned to support warehouse operations.

About the Role

As a Coil Yard Attendant at Atlas Tube , a division of Zekelman Industries , in Kansas City, MO, you will be responsible for picking, packing, staging, and loading steel tube and pipe while following established procedures and quality standards. Who You Are

• Technical School training preferred.
• 2+ years of warehouse experience preferred, ideally in steel or tubing, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Basic math skills to support accurate order processing.
• Ability to safely operate warehouse equipment.
• Strong communication skills to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams.
• Problem-solving ability to address warehouse challenges.
• High attention to detail to ensure order accuracy and adherence to quality standards.

Physical Abilities

• Ability to lift, push, pull, bend, stoop, and stand for extended periods.
• Ability to operate warehouse equipment safely in an industrial environment.
• Ability to work in a loud manufacturing or warehouse setting.

Compensation & Benefits

Below is the expected base hourly range for this position. This is a good-faith estimate, and offers will be determined based on experience, education, skill set, and interview performance.

• Base Hourly Range: [$18.00-$23.00 USD]
• Shift: 3rd Shift 7:00 PM - 5:30 AM
