Job summary

Woodward in Niles, IL is hiring an entry-level manufacturing technician to support production and quality processes on first shift. You will follow work instructions, operate measuring instruments, document non-conformances, and ensure accurate logging of part data.

Responsibilities

  • Communicates project status and updates in MRP and logs/closes items accordingly.
  • Documents non-conformance and dispositions using non-conformance forms.
  • Cleans and maintains measuring instruments and test equipment and inspects parts per work instructions.
  • Follows departmental safety rules and wears required protective gear.
  • Completes and reviews product paperwork and ensures accurate data entry.
  • Verifies calibration of equipment and expiration dates.
  • Measures dimensions according to work instructions and records data.
  • Performs curing processes and inspects parts per visual requirements.

Estimated annual base pay:

Level I: $15.83 -$24.65

1st Shift Hours are 6:00am-2:30pm CST

What You Will Be Doing
  • Communicates information to others about project status, updates, specific instructions, etc. and reviews item status in MRP and ensures item is logged/closed out based on its current status.
  • Documents non-conformance and dispositions using non-conformance forms.
  • Cleans and maintains measuring instruments and test equipment; treats and inspects/tests parts (e.g., routed and deburring operations) per applicable work instructions.
  • Follows all departmental safety rules and regulations and puts on all appropriate safety gear, and clothing/protection required by work activities.
  • Completes and reviews product paperwork, verifying all paperwork is present and filled out appropriately and complete computer entries accurately and in a timely manner.
  • Verify the calibration of equipment and expiration dates.
  • Measure specific dimensions according to the work instruction. Record applicable data as required.
  • Perform curing process of parts and inspect according to visual requirements.
  • May require applying hot dip method or touch up method of stacks and return paths.
What We Are Looking For
  • High school diploma or equivalent required
  • No related work experience required.
  • The ability to see details (e.g., letters, numbers, codes, color, symbols, marks, labels, signs) clearly to accomplish work tasks in a safe and efficient manner.
  • May be required to pass Near Vision and/or Color Vision examinations.
  • Moderate physical activity requiring agility and dexterity, including walking, standing, or bending; and lifting or moving objects. Work is performed in area with moderate risk or discomfort that may require special safety precautions, such as wearing protective clothing or gear.
  • This position requires use of information which is subject to the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR) and/or the Export Administration Regulations (EAR).
