Job summary

Ajax Tocco Magnethermic is seeking a Coil Fabrication & Repair Technician in the United States to manufacture, repair, and refurbish induction coils used in industrial heating. The role requires winding coils, brazing, casting, insulation, and full mechanical assembly while following established processes to meet specifications and schedules.

You will read blueprints and BOMs, assemble and test coils and furnace components, and perform grouting-related tasks, hydraulic fittings, and leak testing

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• 2+ years in manufacturing, fabrication, or electromechanical assembly.
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and BOMs.
• Basic understanding of electrical and mechanical principles.
• Ability to use hand tools, power tools, and precision measuring instruments.
• Other duties as assigned.

Responsibilities

• Set up and operate coil winding equipment based on design specifications and production requirements.
• Fabricate and assemble custom electrical coils using brazing, insulation, taping, varnishing, and finishing processes.
• Read and interpret blueprints, bills of materials, and engineering drawings.
• Assemble, test, and inspect coils and furnace-related components.
• Perform grouting, de-grouting, and regrouting on coils and furnace assemblies.
• Install hydraulic tubing, cylinders, hoses, and related assemblies according to specifications.
• Cut, crimp, solder, and leak-test water-cooled cables and hoses.
• Conduct hydraulic and water testing to verify system functionality and integrity.
• Troubleshoot and resolve basic assembly and fit-up issues

Position Summary:

The Coil Fabrication & Repair Technician is responsible for the complete manufacturing, repair, and refurbishment of induction coils used in industrial heating applications. This includes coil winding, brazing, casting, hosing, and full mechanical assembly. This role requires a strong mechanical aptitude, the ability to read and interpret blueprints,and the discipline to follow established processes while maintaining high quality and productivity standards. Thetechnician will play a critical role in ensuring high-quality assemblies that meet engineering specifications, production schedules, and company standards.

Job Duties:
