Overview

Job Description: The Coil Mechanic / Coil Fabricator is responsible for properly setting up, stacking, testing, as well as properly drying, standing up, moving, and detailing coils. Assisting machine operators in the department may be required.

Responsibilities
  • Set up coils with minimal supervision, reading prints, stacking and testing circuits.
  • Properly dry, stand up, move, and detail coils as part of the fabrication process.
  • Assist machine operators in the department as needed.
  • Maintain a safe work environment and adhere to safety regulations at all times.
  • Follow company policies and work rules.
  • Read and understand Engineering drawings; use measuring tools as required.
Qualifications
  • Maintain positive, cheerful, and professional behavior daily
  • Maintain good attendance and time management while at work
  • Able to be a team member and take advice and instruction from senior operators
  • Able to properly operate a machine in the department (i.e. bender)
  • Setting up coils with minimal supervision. Duties to include: Reading prints, stacking and testing circuits.
  • Able to read and understand Engineering drawings
  • Read a measuring tape down to 1/32 of an inch
  • Able to properly use hand tools
  • Work with supervision of department supervisor and Coil Senior Operators
  • Able to operate the 10-ton crane, or ability to be trained for crane operation
Physical Requirements
  • Industrial Setting (i.e. factory)
  • Requires very good agility (i.e. bending, standing, walking, reaching, twisting and lifting)
  • Lifting and carrying parts up to 50lbs, or 100lbs+ with assistance (two-person lift, mechanical lifting)
  • Normal work week Monday through Friday, occasional weekend work
  • Safety glasses
  • Cut resistant gloves when handling material
  • Cut resistant sleeves
  • Steel or composite toe boots/shoes
  • Bump caps when utilizing overhead crane or entering units
  • Face shield when grinding or cutting
