Job summary

PrecisionX Group in Piscataway, NJ is seeking a skilled Setup Technician to support our precision metal stamping operations. The role focuses on preparing, installing, adjusting, and troubleshooting stamping presses, tooling, and auxiliary equipment to meet strict customer specifications.

The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience with progressive and secondary dies, coil‑fed press systems, and dimensional inspection, with a strong commitment to safety, quality, and accurate documentation

Qualifications

High school diploma or GED; manufacturing experience preferred.
Experience reading engineering drawings and setup sheets.
Experience with progressive, compound, and secondary dies.
ISO 9001/13485 awareness is a plus.

Responsibilities

Set up and operate stamping presses with approved procedures.
Install, align, secure, and remove dies (progressive, compound, blanking, forming, secondary-operation).
Verify tooling IDs and revision levels with WO, setup sheet, and production docs.
Set and adjust shut height, stroke, press speed, feed length, material alignment, lubrication.
Load and thread coil stock or strip material through feeders and tooling.
Perform safe, accurate press changeovers and meet time targets.
Produce first-piece samples with minimal adjustments and maintain production rates.
Complete production and quality records accurately and promptly.
Communicate production, tooling, equipment, and quality concerns.
