Job summary

Bosch is seeking a production line operator to support daily operations on a specific assembly line, assisting the supervisor with planning, assigning and directing work while maintaining quality and safety standards.

Responsibilities include interpreting schedules and Kanban, prioritizing staffing, coordinating with departments for parts, promoting 5S, and providing daily summaries. Must be able to lift 25 to 50 pounds, stand for long periods, and work overtime as needed.

Qualifications

  • Requires high school diploma or equivalent.
  • Must be computer literate and experienced with basic software.
  • Must be able to read and interpret blueprints.
  • Experience with decimals, fractions, and scales.
  • Line experience in multiple areas preferred.
  • Strong quality background is desirable.

Responsibilities

  • Familiar with basic technical aspects of all jobs in the department.
  • Meet requirements of all skilled positions.
  • Monitor production standards and quality controls.
  • Prioritize staffing based on Training Matrix.
  • Coordinate with other departments for part supply.
  • Ensure efficient line handoff.
  • Promote 5S culture.
  • Lead by example.
  • Provide daily summary to supervisor.
  • Assess high/low performance and key drivers.
  • Contribute to Weekly Toolbox Talks.

Job Description

This position is responsible for supporting daily operations on a specific assembly line. This

includes assisting supervisor with planning, assigning and directing work assignments, while

achieving quality and safety standards.

PRINCIPAL DUTIES:

  • 1. Ability to interpret Master Production Schedule, JIT reports, Kanban containers, etc., to determine area requirements.
  • 2. Be familiar with department performance goals and measurements and strive to meet or exceed goals.
  • 3. Familiarity with basic technical aspects of all jobs within the department.
  • 4. Must be able to meet requirements of all skilled positions.
  • 5. Monitor production standards and quality control measures.
  • 6. Work with supervisor to prioritize staffing assignments based on current Training Matrix.
  • 7. Coordinate with other departments to ensure part supply and availability.
  • 8. Ensure efficient and effective line handoff.
  • 9. Promote 5S culture.
  • 10. Lead by example.
  • 11. Provide daily summary to supervisor.
  • 12. Prepared to assess areas of high performance and low performance on the line, detailing key drivers of performance across all resource categories.
  • 13. Work with supervisor to provide value during Weekly Toolbox Talk meetings.
Qualifications

Prior knowledge and experience in department operations is strongly preferred, and experience in other areas is a plus. Must gain or have knowledge of basic department functions in order to perform, when necessary. Must be able to work required overtime. Must be punctual and timely.

Very repetitive work, continuous standing, and walking, unless operating a fork truck. Weight amounts may vary from 5 pounds to 50 pounds, any amount over 50 pounds requires team lift or mechanical help. Arm strength and coordination required for use of departmental tools. Must be able to lift 25 to 50 pounds, 1 to 30 times an hour to meet material handling requirements. Repetitive motion of hands, wrists, elbows and shoulders level and overhead. Rotating of upper body to lift and position parts as necessary due to department demands. Continuous visual and mental demand while operating fork truck, and while operating departmental equipment
