Job summary

EDCOAT, LLC in New Carlisle, IN is seeking a Quality Control Technician to join the production team. This full-time, non-exempt role tests bare and painted coils to ensure conformance to quality parameters and customer specifications, reporting to the Quality Control Manager.

The position requires independent judgment to maintain product quality during production, with a 2-2-3 schedule (4:00 am to 4:00 am).

Qualifications

• Experience in quality control testing of materials and finished products.
• Ability to visually inspect and compare color matches to charts and templates.
• Familiarity with ASTM test methods and quality standards.
• Ability to adjust process parameters (e.g., oven settings, line speed, chemical levels) when needed.

Responsibilities

• Collect samples and test to determine compliance with customer and vendor quality standards.
• Compare paint samples to color charts to ensure conformity to quality standards.
• Track and document any rejected metals and/or coatings.
• Gather and send samples to interested parties in event of a claim or other quality issue.
• Monitor work-in-process performance against specifications and escalate when adjustments are needed.
• Understand customer specifications and internal standards to monitor ASTM results and ensure quality.
