1. Background the Bank is seeking an experienced IT consultant to support a six-month backup migration project. The consultant will be responsible for help with the implementation and documenting advanced backup solutions for Oracle databases, leveraging Cohesity technology, and integrating with monitoring and IT service management platforms.

2. Objectives

• Migrate and optimize backup solutions for Oracle databases, including Oracle Exadata.

• Integrate oracle backup status with monitoring tools and ITSM tools (Splunk, ServiceNow).

• Establish secure offsite backup and replication capabilities, including cloud and tape storage.

• Implement best practices for backup immutability and disaster recovery.

3. Scope of Work The consultant will:

• Design, configure, and troubleshoot oracle backup solutions using Cohesity.

• Integrate backup monitoring with Splunk, including development of custom scripts and dashboards.

• Develop API-based integrations with ServiceNow CMDB for automated oracle asset and backup status updates.

• Automate backup processes using programming and scripting languages (e.g., Python, PowerShell).

• Set up Oracle database backups in accordance with industry best practices, including for Oracle Exadata environments.

• Configure secure offsite backup solutions to cloud and tape, ensuring reliable data transfer and retention.

• Establish and test replication between data centers for backup redundancy and disaster recovery.

• Implement and validate immutability features for Oracle database backups.

• Produce comprehensive documentation for all implemented solutions and processes.

• Communicate effectively with stakeholders and provide regular project updates.
