Job summary

Maximus seeks an Occupational Therapist with a focus on cognitive performance to support Service Members in improving attention, memory, executive function, and recovery. The role combines cognitive assessment with mission-focused intervention across garrison and operational settings.

Candidates should hold an OT license, NBCOT, and have experience in cognitive rehabilitation and human performance. U.S. citizenship and TS/SCI eligibility are required for contract performance.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree with 3-5 years of consulting experience.
• Master’s or Doctoral degree in Occupational Therapy from an accredited institution.
• Two years minimum of cognitive rehabilitation or related field.
• Three years of clinical Occupational Therapist experience.
• Current, unrestricted OT license in at least one U.S. state or territory.
• NBCOT certification.
• Ability to obtain and maintain a TS/SCI security clearance within six months of hire.
• Experience with neurocognitive testing platforms and performance data interpretation.
• Experience working with tactical, military, elite athletic, or high-performance populations.

Responsibilities

• Review cases and summarize the facts to certify or non-certify requested treatments.
• Provide written clinical rationales for CA Workers Compensation cases.
• Review, organize and identify all medical records provided for CA workers comp cases.
• Monitor timeliness of reviews to ensure applicable standards are met.
• Consistently meet production and quality standards.
• Perform special projects such as legal or medical research.
• Develop SME knowledge using job aides and learning tools.
• Conduct comprehensive cognitive performance evaluations using standardized assessment tools and validated neurocognitive testing platforms.
• Translate cognitive assessment findings into mission-relevant performance applications.
• Develop individualized cognitive performance plans targeting executive functioning and attention control.
• Deliver group-based cognitive training and performance workshops.
• Implement cognitive rehabilitation protocols for operators returning from injury or cognitive performance degradation.
• Provide in-training environment coaching to enhance real-time cognitive performance.
• Design and execute cognitive skills development programs for mission demands.
• Educate Service Members on cognitive resilience and fatigue mitigation.
