Job summary

Service Core inc. seeks a Cognitive Specialist to facilitate client group sessions on prosocial decision-making in a classroom setting, approx 25–35 hours per week. You will relay participation concerns to the Case Manager and Program Director.

Responsibilities include using established curriculum, reporting on resident participation, and submitting bi-monthly evaluations. A valid driver’s license and ability to work with offenders are required; training and meetings are expected.

Qualifications

• Master’s degree, or Bachelor’s degree with two years’ experience in Social Services.
• Knowledge of Criminal Justice system, behavioral processes, and staff collaboration.
• Demonstrated ability to manage group behavior.
• Demonstrated ability to deliver quality instruction of standardized curriculum.
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Valid driver’s license with driving record acceptable to agency liability insurance.
• Record permitting work with offenders as required by regulatory agencies.
• 40 hours of training per year related to the job.

Responsibilities

• Facilitate all Cognitive-Based treatment groups using established curriculum.
• Provide detailed reports to Case Managers and Program Director.
• Provide bi-monthly evaluation reports.
• Report resident participation to Program Director and Case Managers.
• Maintain progress notes and treatment documentation.
• Attend all probationary training, unit meetings, and additional trainings.
• Perform other activities as assigned by the Program Director.
