Job summary

Belmont Village Senior Living in Oak Park, IL seeks an Activity Enrichment Leader to guide small groups in fitness, art, music, and memory enrichment for cognitively impaired seniors using our Whole Brain Fitness curriculum.

You will adapt instruction, facilitate discussions, and share new skills while learning from residents’ experiences. The role requires teaching skills and a collaborative, learner-centered approach.

Qualifications

• Associates Degree with coursework in Recreation Therapy, Social Work, Psychology, Education or a related field of study. Bachelor's Degree preferred.
• Minimum of 6 months leading group activities with a special needs population
• Ability to work the defined schedule which may include weekends
• Must be able to communicate clearly in verbal and written English
• Professional, pleasant, adaptable with a team oriented attitude
• Consistent and reliable attendance is essential for all Belmont Village employees to ensure the successful operation of the community

Responsibilities

• Leading and teaching small groups of cognitively impaired seniors using our award winning therapeutic Whole Brain Fitness programs.
• Preparing materials and conducting relevant research to confidently lead engaging memory enrichment activities
• Assisting with Cognitive Assessments, tracking and trending of resident participation and maintaining compliance related documentation
