Job summary

King County’s West Point Treatment Plant seeks an Industrial Engine Mechanic to maintain and repair diesel and biogas engines, generators, pumps, and cogeneration systems across West Point and off-site facilities. This hands-on role supports reliable wastewater treatment and provides an opportunity to apply and expand your technical skills while working on a range of industrial engine equipment.

You will perform preventive and corrective maintenance, track emission and fuel system records, and

Qualifications

Troubleshoot, repair, maintain, and overhaul engine-driven equipment as described.
Knowledge of mechanical systems, electrical controls, and instrumentation.
Ability to interpret manuals, schematics, and maintenance records.
Commitment to safe work practices including Lockout/Tagout.
Maintain accurate maintenance and emissions records.
Collaborate with trades and operations staff.

Responsibilities

Troubleshoot, repair, maintain, and overhaul engine-driven equipment and generator power systems.
Maintain records of emission testing and tuning for cogeneration equipment.
Maintain fuel tank testing, permit inspections, and certifications.
Inspect and test equipment for proper operation and safety compliance.
Organize accurate equipment history records for cost-effective maintenance.
Collaborate with other trades and operations staff for maintenance activities.
Perform other duties as assigned.
