JOB SUMMARY
CoolSys Energy Solutions (CES) is currently seeking a CoGen Service Technician to inspect and diagnose on-site Power Generation and related equipment.
Responsibilities
- Must be familiar with all aspects of our product offerings including CHP and Balance of Plant (not limited to HRSG, radiators, steam/hydronic boiler, absorption chiller, chiller, standby generators, automatic transfer switches, switchgear), island and parallel operation, Comap control system, Building Management Systems, regarding assembly, repair, wiring, rebuilding, testing, and troubleshooting.
- Travel regularly to job sites for preventive maintenance, corrective maintenance, unscheduled service, and troubleshooting of mechanical & electrical repairs on natural gas and biogas engines, generator sets, CHP power generation equipment, and related equipment.
- Monitor system performance remotely, diagnose malfunctions/operator errors, and provide solutions.
- Interface with system operators/field technicians and provide technical guidance.
- Perform engine overhauls, electrical & mechanical testing, calibration, and commissioning.
- Provide clear, concise reports of all work daily, observe and report conditions that could lead to unscheduled or corrective maintenance, and communicate promptly.
- Maintain project & service records diligently.
- Contribute to a positive work environment where team members feel valued and responsible.
- Adapt to diverse team needs and requirements with flexibility and creativity.
- Participate in educational and product training to enhance knowledge.
- Other tasks as assigned; this description is not exhaustive.
Qualifications
- Strong reciprocating engine and electrical background; skilled in internal combustion engines, generator sets, especially natural gas engines, or equivalent experience with diesel or other engines.
- Experience with complex technologies like aircraft engines and turbines is a plus.
- Ability to complete technical start-up of gas engines and CHP systems.
- Diagnose and repair power systems independently.
- Basic knowledge of controls, safety systems, circuit breakers, control wiring.
- Availability for overtime and occasional weekend travel.
- Willingness and ability to travel.
- Ability to work independently and communicate effectively.
- Excellent interpersonal, communication, and computer skills.
- High energy, resourcefulness, organization, dependability, and attention to detail.
- Positive, professional attitude, flexible, adaptable to change.
- Valid driver’s license required.
- Knowledge of IP Networking and troubleshooting preferred.
