Located within Collegiate Presbyterian Church in Ames, we serve as a gathering space, a creative kitchen, and a hub for good conversations over great coffee.

The Role:

As the Manager of Labyrinth Coffee, you’ll have the opportunity to shape the direction of our shop with relative creative freedom, from crafting menus to setting the tone for community engagement. You’ll be hands-on in the day-to-day operations, helping to build a supportive space for staff and customers alike.

Key Responsibilities:

• Supervise, train, and support barista staff
• Serve customers with warmth and efficiency
• Manage inventory, ordering, and budgeting
• Cook and bake as needed (with the freedom to experiment!)
• Maintain relationships with the church congregation, governing board, and state health department
• Champion our mission around sustainability, food justice, and social impact
• Has experience in food service, management, or both
• Is passionate about community-centered work and social enterprise
• Enjoys creative freedom and isn’t afraid to bring new ideas to the table
• Understands the balance of leadership and collaboration
• Can build strong, respectful relationships with staff, church members, and external partners

Bonus Points For:

• Baking or cooking experience
• Familiarity with nonprofit or mission-based organizations
• Experience with sustainability or food justice work
