Job description

Clerical Full Time, Varied Shifts, 40 hours

The Coding Specialist II is responsible for ensuring the accuracy and timeliness of ICD-9-CM coding and DRG assignment on all inpatient, skilled nursing, and rehabilitation medical records. Additionally, the role includes CPT-4 procedural coding and APC assignment for ambulatory surgery and cardiac cath records. The position offers comprehensive experience in all aspects of coding, including outpatient and inpatient coding. This role may be performed remotely.

Qualifications:

1. CCS, RHIT, RHIA certification preferred.
2. Two years of relevant experience in an acute care hospital setting.
3. Effective verbal and written communication skills.
4. Demonstrated experience in Health Information Management (HIM) activities.
