Job summary

CentraCare Health is seeking a Coding Specialist 2 to review medical documentation and convert it into ICD-10-CM, CPT/HCPCS codes. You will ensure accurate, timely coding and collaborate with clinical staff to translate notes into proper codes.

Ideal candidates have AHIMA or AAPC certification, 1 year in a medical office, and experience with EPIC. This full-time role offers work-from-home with a day shift CST schedule and Minnesota-based employment.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Completion of college level courses in ICD, CPT/HCPCS verified through AHIMA or AAPC or relevant experience in anatomy and physiology and medical terminology.
• AHIMA or AAPC Certification required.
• 1 year experience in a medical office.
• Experience in ICD-10 and CPT coding.
• Previous experience working with EPIC.
• Working knowledge of insurance and third-party billing.
• Computer knowledge and keyboard skills.

Job description

Find your purpose as a Coding Specialist 2 with CentraCare. This position is responsible for reviewing electronic and written documentation to convert into diagnostic and/or procedure codes. The coder will ensure that records are coded in an accurate and timely manner. Professional will communicate with clinical staff to allow for accurate translation of medical record documentation using appropriate code selection (ICD CM , CPT/HCPCS). May assist in performing quality and productivity audits, data collection and monitoring/reporting. Through efficient and accurate coding, the individual within this role will help ensure that CentraCare is properly reimbursed for the professional and/or facility services it provides. Safeguards patient privacy and confidentiality.

Schedule:

• Full-time 80 hours every 2 weeks
• Mon-Fri Days CST
• Work from home

Pay and Benefits:

• Starting pay is $24.69 per hour; exact wage determined by years of related experience.
