Job summary

Eye Surgical Associates is seeking a part-time Coding Specialist to ensure accurate medical coding, documentation, and claim precision. You will work closely with physicians and staff to guide coding, audit records, and address denials, supporting Sutton Dermatology + Aesthetics.

The role emphasizes staying current with coding regulations, utilizing credentialing software, and collaborating with the billing team to maintain compliant, efficient revenue integrity.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent required.
• Certified Professional Coder (CPC) or Certified Coding Specialist (CCS) or an Associate Degree in Medical Coding preferred.
• Prior medical coding experience with strong medical terminology preferred.

Responsibilities

• Code review and accuracy for provider coding selections and operative reports with modifiers.
• Audit records to capture principal diagnoses, procedures and charges for maximum reimbursement.
• Collaborate with physicians and staff to clarify documentation and provide coding guidance.
• Act as liaison for the billing dept, resolve claim denials and resubmissions.
• Stay current on carrier updates, regulations, and coding requirements affecting Eye Surgical Associates and Sutton Dermatology + Aesthetics.
