What to Expect (Job Responsibilities):
- Collaborate with clinical documentation improvement (CDI), coding teams, and clinical staff on audit findings and documentation improvements
- Conduct mortality and Diagnosis-Related Group (DRG) reviews focusing on quality outcomes
- Educate clinicians and coders on best practices for documentation and compliance
- Analyze coding and quality data; develop strategic action plans and educational materials
- Prepare and deliver staff training and presentations on coding topics

What is Required (Qualifications):
- Minimum of 5 years of inpatient coding experience at an academic medical center or Level I Trauma hospital
- Previous educator/auditor experience in a large hospital or health system
- Deep understanding of complex clinical cases, including trauma, spinal fusion, and sepsis
- Active AHIMA credential (RHIA, RHIT, or CCS)
- CDIP or CCDS certification required

How to Stand Out (Preferred Qualifications):
- Bachelor's degree (in progress considered); Master's degree preferred
- Experience in project management and quality analysis
- Familiarity with CMS star ratings, Leapfrog, and USNWR quality metrics
