Job summary

Wellstar Health System is seeking a Coding Compliance Auditor to independently audit professional fee coding and ensure accuracy per federal guidelines. You will prepare findings and guide providers to improve coding practices.

The role requires advanced CPT/ICD-10-CM/HCPCS knowledge, and experience with Medicare regulations, plus strong communication and training abilities. Work aligns with Georgia healthcare standards in a day shift.

Qualifications

• Associates degree required; a healthcare-related Bachelor's is preferred.
• Minimum 5 years auditing or coding compliance experience in a physician practice, or 7 years in revenue cycle with a physician/outpatient setting.
• Strong knowledge of Medicare regulations, documentation guidelines, and coding systems (CPT/ICD-10-CM/HCPCS).
• Excellent communication, presentation, and training skills; attention to detail and accuracy.

Responsibilities

• Independently conduct reviews/audits on medical record documentation to support codes.
• Communicate audit findings clearly to physicians and staff with references.
• Perform research on compliance and coding issues.
• Schedule meetings with providers to review findings and recommendations.
• Create and update coding reference materials and presentations; pursue ongoing education.
• Maintain records of time spent and stay aligned with regulatory requirements.
