Job summary

Persevere, a national nonprofit and affiliate of Vant4ge, is hiring a Classroom Facilitator (Teaching Assistant) for a Nashville, TN facility. The role supports inmates and parolees through coding curriculum, job search, and life-skills training.

You will oversee student progress, assist instructors, and help ensure a safe learning environment while coordinating with staff and external guests.

Qualifications

• Must be able to pass a reference check, background check and drug screen.
• Reliable transportation to and from the work site.
• Ability to sit and stand for extended periods while performing duties.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Good organizational skills.

Responsibilities

• Participate in facility-required training.
• Serve as the on-site face of Persevere at the facility.
• Ensure classroom safety and policy adherence.
• Setup A/V equipment for remote instruction and guest speakers.
• Troubleshoot technical issues and route to appropriate staff.
• Communicate with Instructor and Employment Specialist.
• Assist in presenting Career Readiness materials.
• Grade assessments and assignments as directed by the Instructor.
• Complete reentry paperwork and submit to the appropriate staff.
• Organize and facilitate student interviews with the case team prior to enrollment.
• Take attendance and complete required forms.
• Complete corporate training on time and follow SOPs.
