Job summary

YMCA of Montclair is seeking a Junior Coders Instructor for a part-time role in Montclair, NJ. You will design and deliver age-appropriate coding activities for children aged 4–6, using hands-on, play-based methods to introduce sequencing, patterns, and basic algorithms.

The position involves implementing curriculum under supervision of the Enrichment & Family Director, maintaining safe learning spaces, and participating in family nights and staff trainings.

Qualifications

• Experience working with young children in a classroom or program setting.
• Ability to implement age-appropriate curricula and activities.
• Strong communication and teamwork skills.

Responsibilities

• Implement curriculum within established guidelines.
• Design and deliver age-appropriate Junior Coders lessons for 4–6 year olds.
• Use hands-on activities to teach coding concepts and problem-solving.
• Maintain safe, organized learning spaces and manage attendance and records.
• Report to Enrichment & Family Director and coordinate with staff during events.
