The position requires an Associate degree in Health Information Technology or coding certification with eligibility to certify within one year of hire. Responsibilities include daily coding using CPT, ICD-10 and HCPCs, and collaboration with billing to resolve issues.

Qualifications

• Associate degree in Health Information Technology or certification in coding required (RHIA/RHIT/CPC/CPC-A/CCS/CCS-P/CCS-H/COC) with hire-on cert within 1 year.
• Must be certified at hire or within one year of hire.
• Strong problem-solving, self-motivation, time management and organizational skills.

Responsibilities

• Daily coding of accounts using CPT, ICD-10 and HCPCs according to guidelines.
• Ensure coding compliance with standards, regulations and NCCI edits.
• Collaborate with physicians and management to resolve coding and reimbursement issues.
• Coordinate with billing team on insurance appeals for denied claims due to coding issues.
