Brookings Health System in Brookings, SD, is seeking a Coder Specialist to join our team. This on-site, day-shift position codes accounts using CPT, ICD-10 and HCPCS, ensuring compliance with standards and payer guidelines.

You will collaborate with physicians and the billing team on coding issues and denied claims, and you must be certified at hire or within one year, with an associate degree in HIT or equivalent certification.

Competenze

• Associate degree in Health Information Technology or equivalent certification.
• Certification: RHIA, RHIT, CPC, CPC‑A, CCS, CCS‑P, CCS‑H, COC.
• Must be certified at hire or within one year; strong problem‑solving, self‑motivated, good time management and organizational skills.

Mansioni

• Daily coding of accounts assigned using CPT, ICD-10 and HCPCS.
• Ensure coding compliance with national and payor guidelines and physician direction.
• Collaborate with physicians and management to resolve coding and reimbursement issues.
• Coordinate with billing team on insurance appeals for denied claims due to coding issues.
