Job summary

Savista in Annapolis, MD seeks a qualified Medical Coder to review and submit 64 encounters daily, ensuring accurate ICD-10, CPT and HCPCS coding for office and hospital services. You will discuss guidance with providers and align with Medicare, Managed Care and Commercial guidelines.

3+ years of coding experience required; you must navigate EMR, map diagnoses to procedures, and maintain strong organization and time management in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of medical coding experience.
• Experience with ICD-10, CPT, HCPCS coding and E/M guidelines.
• Ability to discuss coding guidance with providers.
• Knowledge of Medicare, Managed Care and Commercial guidelines.
• Strong organizational and time-management skills.

Responsibilities

• Review and submit 64 encounters per day or 8 per hour.
• Review CPT, HCPCS and ICD-10 codes for accuracy before submission.
• Understand hierarchy coding and column 1 and 2 positioning.

• Ability to elaborate on findings and guidelines with providers on issues identified within daily workflow.
• Review assigned CPT, HCPCS and ICD-10 diagnosis codes for accuracy prior to submission.
• Understanding of hierarchy coding as well as column 1 and 2 positioning
• Ability to navigate electronic medical records as it relates to billing and coding.
• Understanding of clinical documentation as it relates to ICD-10, CPT and HCPCS coding.
• Must be able to map and link diagnosis for evaluation and management and procedures.
• Individual must be able to communicate clearly precisely with providers during querying process.
• Knowledge of Medicare, Managed Care and Commercial Insurance guidelines for coding E&M and procedures.
• Outstanding organization skills and time management required.
