**Hospital Outpatient Coder I**

**Full Time - Remote**

**Position Highlights**

  • Work location: Remote, with possible requirement to attend training/meetings in person
  • Work hours: Monday-Friday, 8:00 am - 4:30 pm

**Requirements**

  • High School Diploma or equivalent, or
  • Completion of ICD-10 and CPT coding courses from a recognized organization (e.g., AAPC, AHIMA) with proof of internship hours, or
  • Associate’s Degree in Health Information Technology with proof of internship hours, or
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Health Information Administration with proof of internship hours

**Experience**

  • Preferred: 1 year in acute care hospital outpatient coding
  • Alternatively, no experience required if coursework or degree completed

**Licenses and Certifications**

  • CCA, COC, RHIT, CPC, or RHIA with 12 months of required experience

**Skills**

  • Effective communication skills
  • Knowledge of ICD-10-CM and CPT guidelines
  • Ability to interpret health records
  • Knowledge of coding software and EHR systems
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office
