Job summary

Hackensack Meridian Health's Quail Creek Surgical Hospital in Amarillo, TX is hiring a day-shift, full-time Coder to abstract medical information and assign ICD-10-CM, ICD-9-CM, and CPT codes to ensure accurate billing.

You will work under direct supervision with requirements including high school, an associate degree in HIT or equivalent, familiarity with ICD-9-CM and CPT coding and Medicare/Medicaid rules, and at least two years of coding experience; RHIT or CCS certification preferred.

Qualifications

• High School education.
• Associate Degree in HIT or equivalent experience.
• Familiar with ICD-9-CM and CPT coding principles, as well as Medicare and Medicaid regulations regarding coding.
• Two (2) years’ experience in ICD-9-CM and CPT coding.
• RHIT or CCS or equivalent experience.

Responsibilities

• Under direct supervision, abstract medical information and assign ICD-9-CM, ICD-10-CM, and CPT codes to the medical records to facilitate billing and retrieval of medical information used by various agencies.
