Job summary

Code Ninjas of Marana in Oro Valley, AZ is seeking a Code Sensei to coach kids ages 5-14 in a fun, safe environment. This part-time role covers weekdays and weekends, up to 20 hours/week, with opportunities to lead hands-on coding sessions and track student progress.

You will follow curriculum, create engaging activities, and provide feedback to parents. Ideal candidates have experience mentoring or teaching children, enjoy fast-paced settings, and are enthusiastic about coding and technology.

Qualifications

• Working history with children ages 5 and up (mentoring, coaching, tutoring etc.).
• Experience working with the general public.
• Experience in teaching, mentoring or childcare.
• Works well with others; collaborates; must be fun to work with in a fast-paced environment.
• Preferred: Knowledgeable about coding and technology or able to pick up basic concepts.

Responsibilities

• Train students by following the Code Ninjas curriculum.
• Create a positive and safe environment for student growth.
• Assess student skill sets and adapt activities accordingly.
• Provide feedback to parents after sessions.
• Perform opening/closing duties and keep dojo clean.
• Report daily activities and outcomes to supervisor.

Position: Code Sensei Part Time Up to 20 hours/week | Weekdays and Weekends

What Are We Looking for?

We are looking for a Code Sensei to join our team, working toward our common goal: providing a fun and safe learning environment for children. Our Sensei team is the lifeblood of our Code Ninjas center. This individual oversees day-to-day coaching and student engagement. Are you experienced in working with children? Responsibilities include:

• Training - go through the curriculum and learn it
• Create a positive and safe environment in which students can grow
• Work with children to determine skill sets
• Provide feedback to parents after working with students
• Follow opening/closing duties daily
• Clean dojo (center or mobile dojo) throughout the day to ensure cleanliness
• Report daily to supervisor with respect to day's activities and productivity in dojo
