Job summary

The Town of Boothbay Harbor is seeking a motivated Code Enforcement Officer and Licensed Plumbing Inspector to enforce ordinances, review plans, issue permits, and conduct inspections to protect public health and safety.

Requires a high school diploma and at least two years in building trades; a post-secondary degree is preferred. This is a full-time position with excellent benefits and a starting salary of $74,380.

Qualifications

• Requires a high school diploma or equivalent and at least 2 years’ experience in building or construction trades.
• Preferred: post-secondary degree in construction, engineering or related field.
• Attends Planning Board and Board of Appeals meetings to present findings, recommendations, and enforcement updates.
• Administers and enforces local ordinances, land use regulations, building standards, and applicable laws.

Responsibilities

• Review permit applications, site plans, and construction documents.
• Issue permits and conduct field inspections.
• Investigate complaints and document violations.
• Maintain accurate records and prepare reports.
• Present findings at Planning Board and Board of Appeals meetings.
