Job summary

New Jersey State League of Municipalities in Summit seeks a part-time code inspector for the Department of Community Services. Responsibilities include inspecting residential and commercial properties for compliance, investigating complaints, and communicating with property owners.

Job description

Part-time employment with flexible hours available for a code inspector in the Department of Community Services. Duties include, but are not limited to, inspections of residential and commercial structures/properties for compliance with regulations, investigating complaints, communicating with property owners, and follow-up/close investigations (some resulting in summonses). Candidates with at least one (1) year of experience in general inspection of buildings or properties/work requiring knowledge of ordinance interpretation, or one (1) year of law enforcement experience. Strong computer, communication, and follow-up skills are a must. Salary Range: $25 - $33+ per hour, DoQ. A valid NJ driver's license is required.
