Job summary

Roseland Borough is seeking a Code Enforcement Director to oversee and administer the municipality’s code enforcement, ensuring compliance with zoning, property maintenance, and licensing. The role supervises staff, conducts inspections, and coordinates with other agencies, with salary between $70,000 and $85,000 plus pension and benefits.

A qualified candidate will have at least one year of inspection or investigation experience, and certificates in Planning/Zoning are preferred.

Qualifications

• One year of experience conducting inspections or investigations to ensure compliance.
• Certificates in Planning or Zoning preferred.
• Ability to interpret and apply municipal ordinances.
• Strong communication and organizational skills; valid driver’s license.

Responsibilities

• Oversee and administer code enforcement to ensure compliance with zoning, property maintenance, business licensing, and other ordinances.
• Supervise departmental staff and conduct inspections and investigations.
• Coordinate enforcement activities with municipal and outside agencies.
• Represent the municipality in legal and administrative proceedings.
• Provide reports and recommendations to the Mayor and Council.
