Job summary

Upper Dublin Township is seeking an experienced and collaborative Code Enforcement Director to manage building and property maintenance codes and oversee a seven-member team. The role includes guiding staff, coordinating with external consultants, and addressing complex code issues for residents and businesses.

The successful candidate should have education, training, and progressively responsible experience, with preferred PA L&I certifications as Building Code Official and Residential Building

Qualifications

• Combination of education, training, and progressively responsible experience sufficient to perform the duties.
• Preferred certifications include Building Code Official and Residential Building Inspector by Pennsylvania Department of Labor & Industry.
• Additional certifications related to building code enforcement, inspection, plan review, and related disciplines are highly desirable.

Responsibilities

• Direct day-to-day operations of the Code Enforcement Department and lead a seven-member staff.
• Coordinate with contractors, developers, design professionals, and outside parties on code matters.
• Oversee the township's third-party code consultant and commercial plan reviews and inspections.
