Job summary

Highlands County Board of County Commissioners (Highlands County BCC) seeks a skilled clerical and technical professional to provide administrative support to Code Enforcement officials in Sebring, FL. The role handles zoning code complaints, coordinates actions with enforcement staff, and maintains databases and reports.

Qualifications

High school diploma or equivalent is required.
Preferably three years of planning, zoning, or code enforcement related experience.
Strong public relations and customer service skills.

Responsibilities

Receives, reviews, verifies, and routes zoning code complaints from the public in multiple formats.
Coordinates response action with Enforcement Officials.
Maintains code enforcement automated database.
Produces automated reports for department use.
Assists customers at the service counter, via telephone, e-mail and regular correspondence regarding code enforcement and zoning issues.
Advises the public, contractors, land developers, etc. as requested in code enforcement and zoning matters.
