Job summary

Jackson Township is seeking a qualified full-time Code Enforcement Officer to join the Code Enforcement Department. The role conducts field inspections and investigations to ensure compliance with municipal ordinances, codes, rules, and regulations, and to address violations identified through inspections or complaints.

The ideal candidate has at least one year of inspection or investigative experience, strong written and verbal communication skills, and the ability to interpret and apply local

Qualifications

• One year of experience conducting inspections or investigations to ensure compliance with laws, rules, regulations, or ordinances.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to interpret and apply municipal ordinances and regulations.
• Ability to maintain accurate records and prepare detailed reports.
• Valid New Jersey Driver's License required and eligibility for New Jersey Civil Service Commission for the title.

Responsibilities

• Perform field inspections and investigations to ensure compliance with municipal ordinances, codes, rules, and regulations.
• Conduct property inspections and respond to complaints.
• Document violations and prepare reports; maintain records.
• Work with residents, business owners, and other agencies to achieve compliance.
• Appear before municipal boards, agencies, and courts as needed.
