Tech Talent South is seeking a Code Immersion Instructor in Raleigh, North Carolina. You will be responsible for leading instruction in full-stack web development, including Ruby on Rails, HTML/CSS, and more. The role involves teaching classes, mentoring students, and preparing teaching materials in a supportive environment.

Full-time and part-time sessions are available, allowing flexibility in scheduling. Ideal candidates should have strong teaching skills and the ability to communicate effectively with beginners.

Job Description

Code Immersion Instructor: As an Instructor, you are responsible for the student experience in and out of the classroom. These responsibilities specifically lie in the realm of instruction as it pertains to the curriculum set forth by Tech Talent South.

Responsibilities

• Lead instruction of course material in specified class hours.
• Attend and mentor students during office hours.
• Be available to mentor students outside of class and office hours.
• Preparing and creating materials, coursework, and homework for students.
• Lead workshops in tandem with community organizers.
• Actively participate and contribute to weekly team calls.
• Teach in a rewarding atmosphere.
• Take on occasional side projects that may, or may not, be exclusive to your campus.

Qualifications

• Skills and experience in full-stack web development, especially in Ruby on Rails, HTML/CSS, Front-End Frameworks, SQL, APIs/REST, Git and Github, Deployment.
• Ability to communicate effectively to beginners, with good communication skills and social aptitude.
• Passion and understanding of teaching code, with dedication, persistence, patience, attention to detail, and enthusiasm.
• A good and inviting attitude.

Additional Information

Looking for instructors to teach the following sessions:

• Full Time Session: Classes meet Monday-Thursday from 8am-11am; office hours from 11am-12:30pm for 8 weeks.
• Part Time Session: Classes Meet Monday and Wednesday nights from 6pm-9pm; office hours from 5pm-6pm for 8 weeks.
