Job Description

JOB SUMMARY:

The primary responsibility of the Beverage Server/Cocktails is to ensure complete customer satisfaction by serving and providing beverages to our guests to ensure an enjoyable stay.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:

  1. Greets and welcomes all guests in a pleasant and professional manner.
  2. Provides timely cocktail service in a friendly and courteous manner.
  3. Keeps assigned areas clean and empty of glasses and bottles.
  4. Constantly looks for service opportunities.
  5. Responds to and resolves guest complaints.
  6. Answers guest questions and is knowledgeable about property events and attractions.
  7. Performs all side work at assigned station, such as stocking coffee, glasses, sugar, cream, and coffee dispenser.
  8. Provides fast (20 minutes or less round time), friendly, professional beverage service to casino guests; carries full trays on every round.
  9. Takes drink orders, communicates with bartender, assists in the preparation of drinks and presents drinks to guests.
  10. Maintains clean and stocked workstation.
  11. Handles money according to procedure.
  12. Monitors guest consumption of alcohol and intervenes as needed according to guidelines.
  13. Serves as ambassador of goodwill while working and at customer and public relations functions; appears in publicity photos.
  14. Promotes casino events and programs.
  15. Works closely with Total Rewards Center to promote new card sign-up programs.
  16. Works well with others, especially beverage servers, bartenders, bar backs, beverage supervisor, and slots supervisor.
  17. Provides personalized service and uses guest names.
  18. Resolves service problems according to guidelines.
  19. Meets the attendance guidelines of the job and adheres to regulatory, departmental, and company policies.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  1. Must be a minimum of 21 years of age or older.
  2. One-year previous high volume cocktail experience.
  3. Minimum of one-year customer service experience in a previous position, where the primary job duty is direct customer service, is required.
  4. Must possess excellent customer service and communication skills.
  5. Must be able to initiate and engage in conversation in a professional and friendly manner.
  6. Must present a professional and pleasant appearance that guests will find appealing and approachable in order to engage in conversation.
  7. Must be able to work any day of the week and scheduled shift.
  8. Must be able to get along with co-workers and work as a team.
  9. Must present a well-groomed appearance.
  10. Work requires knowledge of tray service and cocktail ingredients.
  11. Work requires schedule flexibility which may include nights, weekends, holidays, and overtime as needed.

PHYSICAL, MENTAL AND ENVIRONMENTAL DEMANDS:

  1. Requires standing and walking continuously with a tray up to 20lbs throughout the shift.
  2. Must be able to lift and carry 20lbs.
  3. Must be able to work in extreme heat during the summer months.
  4. Must be able to stand for entire shift.
  5. Must be able to access service area when picking up beverage orders.
  6. Must be able to converse over the telephone in an environment with loud background noise.
  7. Must be able to stoop, bend, and reach.
  8. Must have the manual dexterity required to write drink orders, prepare drinks and garnishes, and handle beverage orders.
  9. Must be able to listen and respond to visual and aural cues.
  10. Must be able to simultaneously handle the demands of many customers.
