As a Cocktail Server at Blu, you will work in a lively environment with opportunities to connect with guests and enjoy stunning views of Lake Michigan from the 23rd floor. Your responsibilities include providing high standards of food and beverage service in a timely and friendly manner. During the winter holiday season, you will also serve high tea to our guests.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
- Check and maintain proper set-up and cleanliness of the service station and floor before, during, and after shifts.
- Greet guests promptly and courteously, explaining specials, promotions, and menu options.
- Serve all guests responsibly, with responsibilities adapting based on assigned sections, ensuring every guest is attended to.
- Take orders and recite selections of all call and premium brands; memorize available drinks, beers, and wines.
- Provide appropriate snacks and garnishes with beverages.
- Enter orders into the point of sale system promptly to inform the bartender; ensure all orders are rung in before preparation.
- Maintain cleanliness of tables, ashtrays, floors, and assist with bar area organization.
- Replenish beverages, check guest satisfaction, and anticipate needs proactively.
- Present checks, handle cash, verify charges, and record transactions accurately; thank guests and invite them to return.
- Perform cleaning tasks as assigned, adhering to health standards.
- Stock supplies such as straws, napkins, glassware, matches, and food daily.
- Clear tables within 3 minutes of guest departure.
- Perform other duties as assigned by management.
POSITION REQUIREMENTS:
- Basic knowledge of food and beverage preparation and service for high-volume bars.
- Extensive knowledge of spirits and beers; ability to recite trendy liquors and understand wines.
- Constant awareness of surroundings and guest needs, following corporate standards.
- Ability to read menus and promotions, communicate effectively in English, and take orders.
- Memory skills to recall and promote menu items.
- Ability to transport trays weighing up to 25 lbs. through crowded areas repeatedly.
- Compliance with all liquor laws, including serving minors and intoxicated guests.
- Maintain a positive attitude throughout shifts.
- Complete side work and daily checklists.
- Work well as part of a team.
- Stay motivated during busy and slow periods.
- Previous cash handling experience; accurate money management and balancing skills.
- Proficiency with keyboard and POS systems for order pre-checks and closing checks.
- At least 1 year of cocktail serving experience.
- Ability to obtain necessary licenses; TIPS and bartender certifications preferred.
