Job summary

Butler Weldments is seeking an experienced Cobot Welder to operate and program collaborative robotic welding systems, producing high-quality welded assemblies. The role combines traditional welding with robotic automation by setting up fixtures, teaching robot programs, inspecting weld quality, and ensuring production meets customer quality and schedule requirements.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Minimum two years welding experience.
• Experience with all weld processes.
• Ability to read blueprints, fabrication drawings, and welding symbols.
• Basic computer skills.
• Strong mechanical aptitude.
• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
• Preferred: experience operating collaborative welding robots.

Responsibilities

• Operate collaborative robotic welding systems to produce quality weldments.
• Load and unload components into welding fixtures.
• Verify correct job orders, drawings, and welding procedures prior to production.
• Teach and modify robot paths for new and existing parts.
• Set up welding fixtures and tooling.
• Read and interpret blueprints, weld symbols, and WPS documents.
• Perform visual weld inspections to verify workmanship.
