Cobb in the United States is seeking workers for night shifts in the chick processing area. The role involves pulling chicks, washing and disinfecting pull rooms, and handling baskets and boxes.
Shifts run 6pm to 6am, with a potential for schedule changes based on production needs. Applicants should have six months of continuous work with the same employer, preferably with agricultural/production experience.
Schedule: Sat, Sun, Tues and Wed nights. Hours: 6pm until order is complete, approx. 6am, including Holiday’s. Work schedule is subject to change based upon production needs.
Applicants with previous agricultural or production experience will be considered preferred. Applicant must have at least six consecutive months of work experience with the same employer and no additional gaps in employment greater than six months with the last 36 months. If applicant was laid-off, providing eldercare or childcare, the six month gap will be increased to 18 months. Previous work history criteria will not apply to applicants who have been full time students consecutively for the last 36 months.

Starting wage - $18.00 per hour plus additional shift differential for evenings, nights and weekends.
This position is responsible for the pulling of chicks and preparing chicks for processing; properly disposes of substandard chicks. Washing and disinfecting of the pull room. Other duties may be assigned.
The jobsite is a biosecure environment which requires showering, changing clothing and footwear before entering the facility. Appropriate clothing and footwear is provided by the Company. No jewelry may be worn on the jobsite except for medical ID jewelry and body piercings covered by appropriate clothing. Must be willing to sign an agreement to avoid any avian species (chickens, ducks, birds, etc.). Must be willing to sign and abide by the Company Biosecurity and Company Animal Welfare Guidelines. Will be trained to recognize and comply with all Safety procedures.
Physical: Must use safe lifting techniques. Must regularly remove hatcher basket from stack of 15 high (overhead lifting) weighing 20-25lbs. Must regularly lift and stack chick boxes (wheeled dolly) weighing up to 12 pounds and will occasionally be required to push or pull stacks of boxes up to 125 pounds. Will regularly be required to pull/push 500 to 1000 pounds (wheeled carts). While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand and walk majority of shift (concrete floor); sit; use hands to handle or feel objects and controls; reach with hands and arms; balance; climbing/ladder usage; talk or hear; drive a vehicle within the farm complex. Specific vision abilities required by the job include close vision; distance vision; color vision; peripheral vision; depth perception; and the ability to adjust focus. Environment: Required to work on wet, slippery surfaces and also work in hot, dry, dusty, wet, icy, snowy and cold environments.
Safety goggles, face shield, chemical gloves, waterproof apron, and rubber boots are required. Ear plugs will be used as required. NIOSH approved N95 particulate respirators will be worn as needed.
Disinfectants such as Synergize, Lysol, bleach, etc.
TM is expected to follow all applicable safety policies and procedures. These include but are not limited to Hazard Communication, Respiratory Protection, LOTO and Personal Protective Equipment. TM is expected to identify, address and mitigate safety related risks.
