Job summary

MasTec, Inc. is seeking a Coax Splicer to join a team of construction professionals. You will splice, sweep, troubleshoot, and upgrade aerial and underground coaxial cable at outdoor utility sites.

This hands-on role requires 1–3 years of splicing experience, comfort with ladders or bucket trucks, and a safety-first mindset. Responsibilities

• Splice, sweep and troubleshoot existing coaxial cable (aerial and underground).
• Optimize Nodes and splice in node splits to improve capacity.
• Utilize RF meters and TDRs for testing and verification.
• Read CATV design prints and installation layouts.
• Work at outdoor utility construction sites.

Overview

As a Coax Splicer, you will develop new skills, work in a safety-minded environment, and join us in expanding technology for a better community. Responsibilities

As a Coax Splicer, you will be a part of a team of construction professionals who produce high-quality work while using specialized skills in splicing, activations, testing, troubleshooting, and more to make a difference. You will upgrade the existing plant, plant extensions, and new building construction. You believe in doing the job right. Being the best. And you’re up for the challenge.

In addition, you will:

• Splice, sweep and troubleshoot existing aerial and underground coaxial cable
• Optimize new Nodes and splice in node splits to reduce capacity
• Utilize RF Meters and TDR (time-domain reflectometers)
• Read CATV telecommunication design and prints
• Work in outdoor utility construction sites

Qualifications

About You:

• Safety is a value you live by
• You have at least 1-3 years of splicing and sweeping
• You are comfortable working on a ladder or a bucket truck
• You have a knack for figuring out hard problems and enjoy a hands-on approach to your work
• You have a track record of completing work with a high level of quality
• You are flexible and enjoy a variety of shifts with overtime
