Job summary

Axalta is seeking a Laboratory Technician at our Philadelphia, PA facility. You’ll conduct routine and complex research activities, support Scientists, and help manage data and experiments. Travel to customer locations may be required.

The role emphasizes safety, accuracy, and collaboration within the Global Innovation Center, with opportunities to work on paint formulations and test results using standard software tools. Eligible for health insurance and paid time off.

Qualifications

• 2-year degree with 3+ years in an industrial laboratory, or 4-year science degree with chemistry experience.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills; capable of working in self-managed or team environments.
• Ability to handle hazardous materials and meet established deadlines.

Responsibilities

• Design and conduct experiments; collect, summarize, and present data.
• Prepare and evaluate coating formulations including primers and topcoats.
• Record test results accurately and troubleshoot lab issues.
• Document findings and communicate results; contribute to work plans.
• Maintain inventory and ensure a safe working environment.
• Travel to internal/external customer locations as needed.
