Job summary

Momentive is seeking a Summer 2027 Intern-Coatings R&D to support the development of new chemistries and products used as coating ingredients. You will work with a senior chemist on formulation, testing, and performance evaluation.

Candidates must be enrolled in BS/MS/PhD programs in Chemistry or Chemical Engineering, with strong lab skills and excellent communication. The role requires 40 hours/week for 10–12 weeks between May and August, in Louisiana.

Qualifications

• Experience or knowledge of coating technologies preferred but not required.
• Ability to learn quickly and work in a team.
• Excellent communication and documentation skills.

Responsibilities

• Evaluate and design new chemistries for coating additives or resins.
• Formulate and test coatings to meet performance requirements.
• Conduct fundamental studies to understand structure‑property relationships.
• Document studies and present findings to technology team and leaders.
