Job summary

Vertiv in Pelzer, SC seeks a Coatings Supervisor to lead the coatings department within fabrication/ modular construction. This hands-on leadership role manages up to 60+ personnel, ensures safety, quality, and timely coating work, and drives continuous improvement.

You will oversee materials, training, and documentation, coordinating with engineering and production management to meet project requirements and KPIs.

Qualifications

• Minimum 3 years in a supervisory role in industrial coatings.
• Strong knowledge of surface prep, coatings application, and inspection processes.
• Ability to read technical specs, drawings, and coating standards.
• Experience in safety, quality documentation, and continuous improvement.

Responsibilities

• Lead by example in the coatings department, performing hands-on preparation and application.
• Serve as subject matter expert for coatings, providing guidance on materials and processes.
• Plan, coordinate, and oversee daily coating activities to meet project deadlines.
• Manage coatings materials and supplies, ensuring proper storage and handling.
• Inspect surface prep and coating application for quality and specs.
• Provide training and mentoring on coating techniques and safety practices.
• Set up and maintain coating equipment (spray systems, booths, PPE).
• Collaborate with engineering, quality, and production management on coating issues.
• Maintain accurate documentation of coating processes, inspections, and compliance.
• Enforce safety protocols and promote a safe work environment.
