Job summary

On-Board Services, Incorporated is seeking a Lab Technician in Houston, TX for an on-site contract position with a local manufacturing partner. This role pays $22.00/hour and includes benefits and 401k eligibility.

Under supervision of a Senior Technician or Chemist, you will test coatings, collect and document data, perform experiments, enter results into lab notebooks and computers, and assist in making cleaners, pretreatments, paints, and coatings from chemical ingredients while following

Qualifications

• 1 year of demonstrated laboratory experience.
• Computer literate in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
• Ability to follow experimental protocols for data preservation.
• Comfortable with toxic chemicals and safe lab practices; ability to stand most of the day.
• Associates or Bachelor's degree in a technical field.

Responsibilities

• Testing of coatings.
• Evaluate, collect and record data.
• Organize and perform experiments using established procedures and summarize results in a lab notebook.
• Use a computer to enter data and generate charts/tables for communication of results.
• Prepare cleaners/pretreatments/paints/coatings from chemical ingredients.
• Test performance characteristics of coated substrates.
