Job summary

Construction Material Testing is seeking a Coatings Inspector II to lead inspection of protective coating and lining work on industrial, water, and infrastructure projects. You plan hold points, verify surface preparation, application, and cure with sign-off authority, and perform adhesion and holiday testing.

You will supervise Level 1 inspectors on larger projects, review logs, write inspection and nonconformance reports, and represent the program to owners and applicators.

Qualifications

• AMPP (NACE) CIP Level 2 certification, current.
• 2+ years inspecting under CIP Level 2.
• Experience on tank, pipeline, water/wastewater, or structural steel coating projects.

Responsibilities

• Plan inspection hold points and testing from coating spec and manufacturer data.
• Verify surface prep, application, and cure with sign-off at each hold point.
• Perform adhesion, holiday, and cure testing.
• Disposition defects and specify repairs.
• Supervise Level 1 inspectors on larger projects and review their logs.
• Write inspection and nonconformance reports.
• Represent the inspection program to the owner and applicator.
