Job summary

Construction Material Testing is seeking a Coatings Inspector II to lead coating inspections on industrial, water, and infrastructure projects with sign-off authority. You will plan hold points, verify surface prep, application and cure, perform adhesion and holiday testing, resolve nonconformances with the applicator, and write inspection reports relied on by the owner and engineer.

This role requires AMPP (NACE) CIP Level 2 certification and 2+ years of inspection experience, familiarity with

Qualifications

AMPP/NACE CIP Level 2 certification required and current.
2+ years inspecting under CIP Level 2.
SSPC/NACE surface preparation standards knowledge.
Experience on tank, pipeline, water/wastewater, or structural steel coatings.
Ability to stop an application that is out of specification and document it.

Responsibilities

Plan inspection hold points and testing from the coating specification and manufacturer's data.
Verify surface preparation, application, and cure with sign-off authority at each hold point.
Perform adhesion, holiday, and cure testing.
Disposition defects and specify repairs.
Supervise Level 1 inspectors on larger projects and review their logs.
Write inspection and nonconformance reports.
Represent the inspection program to the owner and applicator.
